For this adolescent language study, we are currently recruiting:

  • Males with fragile X syndrome or autism between the ages of 14-22.

Participants are compensated for their time. If participants live farther than 30 miles away, travel with be compensated. Please contact us by email or by phone at (803) 777-5676 if you have questions or are interested in participating in the adolescent language study.

Information is obtained through a variety of measures incorporating maternal reports and direct assessments of each participant’s skills. The assessments consist of a day and a half of activities on the campus of the University of South Carolina. These assessments occur annually for four years.

This adolescent language study focuses on how adolescents and young adults ages with either fragile X syndrome or autism develop language and how language relates to independence.
