  • Girls with fragile X syndrome who are attending high school (diploma or certificate tract)

Participants are compensated for their time. If participants live farther than 30 miles away, travel, hotel, and meals with be compensated. Please contact us by email or by phone at (803) 777-5049 to learn more about the study.

This is a longitudinal study of the transition into adulthood in fragile X syndrome. Participation will involve two in-person assessments at the University of South Carolina (years 1 and 4 of the study) as well as completing phone interviews/questionnaires (years 2 and 3 of the study). The in-person assessments are spread across two days and incorporate maternal-report measures as well as direct assessment of each participant’s skills.

Our facilities are family-friendly and our team is experienced in working with individuals with fragile X syndrome and their families. If you are interested in participating but not sure if this study is the right fit for your family, please give us a call and we would be happy to talk through the details with you!
