Birthday celebration at our lab today!
We hope that our participant Evelyn enjoyed her birthday trip to the zoo today! It is hard to believe that we have been lucky enough to have them in our study since 2013!

Congratulations to Sara Matherly and Kelly Caravella!
Two of our graduate students, Sara Matherly and Kelly Caravella, will be participating in the South Carolina Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (SC LEND) program during the 2017-2018 year! SC LEND is a training program with the goal of improving access to healthcare and services for children with disabilities and their families by training various professionals in clinical knowledge, advocacy, cultural competence, etc. We are proud to have them represent our lab in this larger state-wide initiative with MUSC, Greenville Health System and other organizations dedicated to the welfare of South Carolinians.

NDD Lab hosts Dr. Jamie McPartland
We were honored to host Dr. Jamie McPartland of Yale University, who provided expertise on the development, implementation and interpretation of electrophysiological indicators of social perception in children. Dr. McPartland is a key consultant on our NIH grant entitled Emergence and stability of Autism in Fragile X Syndrome.

The NDD Lab is committed to consistently providing education and training opportunities for many undergraduates at the University of South Carolina, which is currently classified as an R1 Research Institution by the Carnegie Commission on higher education.

Participant Families Brighten our Days!!
Most of our families really know how to have fun and that is what makes us want to come to “work” each day!! These three participants were absolutely fabulous during their visit to our lab last week and so we gave them STICKY hands as prizes! That’s when things just got silly;)

Welcome Dr. Elizabeth Will!!
Starting this July, the Neurodevelopmental Lab will have a new postdoctoral fellow as part of our research team!! Dr. Elizabeth Will is coming to us from Colorado State University where she received her Ph.D. in Applied Developmental Science. Dr. Will’s postdoctoral research will focus on delineating syndrome-specific vulnerabilities and underlying psychophysiological mechanisms contributing to differential outcomes for individuals with fragile X syndrome.
